Read articleOMSB exams are the computer-based examinations of the Oman Medical Specialty Board. The Occupational Classification Exams (OEGP, OEN, OEP, OEIM and others) are used by the Ministry of Health and private employers for employment and licensing in Oman, while the OMRSE is the selection exam for OMSB residency programmes.
Most OMSB occupational classification exams have 100 single-best-answer MCQs in 2 hours 30 minutes. The OEGP and the OMRSE have 150 MCQs in 2 hours 45 minutes. All are delivered by Pearson VUE, in Muscat or at Pearson VUE centres worldwide.
According to the current OMSB booklets: 65% for specialist physicians, general dentistry and orthodontics; 60% for the OEGP, OMRSE, pharmacists and BSN nurses; 55% for assistant pharmacists, laboratory scientists, physiotherapists and dietitians; and 50% for the nursing diploma.
USD 220 for physician and dental exams, USD 200 for nursing, pharmacy and allied health exams, and USD 130 for the OMRSE. The fee is paid to Pearson VUE when you book and is separate from our question bank subscription.
